Well, this and last month has seen our team in Carlisle, Southport, and Doncaster replacing squeaky chipboard flooring. In one sentence, I think that just about sums up how wide spread the issue of squeaky chipboard is. Granted it doesn’t show the whole country, but that’s a pretty wide circle of replacements within a short period of time.
I get constant weekly emails from all over the country regarding this issue.
Listen folks, there is an answer, and that answer is not just to simply take a stab in the dark and screw extra fixings into the chipboard. You just don’t know what’s under there and where. Water pipes, gas pipes, and electrical wiring. All expensive and dangerous ticking time bombs that you should absolutely not play Russian Roulette with, and that is no exaggeration!!!
The answer is to lift the chipboard and replace it with ply. I’ve said this time and time again. The procedure is so successful!
I’m not going to drone on. You can read more on how this process is carried out by clicking here…Take a look at the first picture in that article. That is the reason why you don’t just try adding more screws!!
