Aqua Woods Luxury click vinyl tile (LVT) or plank flooring is an industry innovation, luxury vinyl flooring with an installer friendly Uniclic system. A natural embossed wood texture is applied to the surface to provide an authentic feel which adds true character a feel to the flooring.

The ‘Uniclic’ click system which is classically found in laminate floors is making it’s way into other flooring uses. As with any floor covering, the sub-floor must be sound, even and dry. LVT is waterproof but should not be considered as a moisture barrier in any way.

It comes with a 20 year domestic guarantee or 10 year commercial guarantee. This stuff is ideal for shops, hair studio’s, galleries etc, as well as busy households. Differing from traditional LVT products no adhesive is needed as the floor does not need to be glued down, Aqua wood LVP blonde oak flooringsimply click, making it the perfect choice for commercial use or domestic as it can be used instantly! Although, as mention, the sub-floor must be flat!

If you’re in the market for wood style floor coverings and are unsure, well certainly consider LVT. With a large colour selection and appealing cost, it really is a hard one to over look!

Hi – do you recommend using an underlay with this type of LVT board?

  • Hi David,

Yes. There’s specif underlay for this type of flooring. It’s often around 1.6 mm thick with a semi adhesive coating (Supplied by your retailer).

Thanks Wes – the retailer doesn’t have any unfortunately! Not sure if links work here but it’s this stuff I’m buying:

Would Polyflor Vinyl Loc be what I need, or could I get away with something cheaper like this?

    Your expertise is much appreciated.

  • Hi David,

The Wickes vinyl loc may well not require an underlay. The manufacturer may have produced a specific backing board that doesn’t require one. The best thing you can do is try and read the manufacturers installation guide.

The Westco foam underlay is not advised. It will be too spongy to use under a click vinyl (In my experience anyway). Typically the type of underlay would be something like this It is a very dense thin underlay with very low compression.

As mentioned, some vinyl loc products are constructed with a rigid back board, but do check the guidelines regardless.

I hope that’s of some help.
